Puppy mills, BYB, Petshops..?

How many are truely disgusted by this stuff? I recently red an article in the new peoples magazine about puppy mills, and just everytime it makes my gut wrench. I get so f'ing disgusted when i read about a puppy mill crack down, and handfull of animals are dead and beated or starved, many of them dont ever even see human hands until bought by a overpriced low quality, piece of crap pet store. And even more sickening to me is the people that participate in this and encourage it by buying a dog from a petstore, your only supporting the mulit million dollar industry, which is no better then the drug trade. Recently, at my local grocery store, their was a dog found in the dumpster, starved to death. Its disgusting.. what do you do to help spread awareness/prevention/or anything along those lines? I'm curious as to what people, everyday people liek me and my friends are out their doing. I personally work fulltime but devote much of my free time to animals, volunteering at the shelter and doing speeches and spreading awareness, but just recently this stuff is getting out of hand i'd liek to know whats being done, and how i can become more active in this! thanks everyone
