In Britain. What was it about the 70s that sparked the women's liberation movement?

Feminism had been around since mid 19th century, of course but what was special about the seventies? Was it the equal pay issue and what made it come up at that time? Was it connected to the greater social freedom of women during the 60s which made them psychologically ready to demand their rights?
